Australia and New Zealand on camera

Audley Travelers Frank & Linda Gibas recently returned from a trip to Australia and New Zealand with incredible photos of the landscapes and wildlife.

Story by Audley Travel February 3rd, 2017

capturing the beauty down under

When our retirements became a reality, my wife and I began to pursue our lifelong dream of photographing the landscapes and wildlife of the United States and other countries. High on our list of destinations were Australia and New Zealand. Our 21-day trip to the two beautiful countries was planned by Australasia specialist Alison H.

Paragliding at Bob's Peak, Queenstown, New Zealand
Lake Wakatipu and Remarkable Mountains in Queenstown, New Zealand
Sunset at Remarkable Mountains, Queenstown, New Zealand

After researching various options, most involving a group tour, we realized that many offered a nice itinerary but none of them were a perfect fit. We didn’t want to settle for a tour which featured only 10 days out of 21 that fit our interests so we turned to Audley Travel for help. After explaining our situation to our specialist, Alison, a plan was drawn up with her suggestions and expertise. After a bit of tweaking, a terrific itinerary was devised which not only involved numerous flights but also all land transportation. Our trip was so much more enjoyable not having the stress of driving in a foreign country, not to mention, on the opposite side of the road!

All of our activities were described in our custom itinerary with contact information and any vouchers and flight information needed. I was amazed that such a complex itinerary could be so well planned and implemented. The best part….the trip was OUR trip and it was the little details that really made it special. Alison and Audley Travel arranged for a “Breakfast With The Birds” in Port Douglas, an after hours personal tour of Tasmania’s Bonorong Sanctuary with the owner of the park, and our own personal guide for an exhilarating hike in the Blue Mountains. We really appreciate how well she matched our trip to our interests.
